Learn how to crochet this chunky headband! This crochet headband is very warm and nice to wear! You can have your hair up and not mess it up by trying to keep the ears warm and the button closure is everything!

To crochet this pattern I am using N 15, 10 mm crochet hook and Lion Brand super chunky, weight 6 Wool-Ease Thick & Quick yarn. For my winter projects I like to use wool blend yarn but you can use any other fiber as well. I like Lion Brand super chunky, Wool-Ease Thick & Quick yarn and they have so many colors to choose from.

ch – chain

Pattern Instructions

Start with a slip knot and chain 3.

Into a first stitch crochet 3 dc stitches then ch 2 and turn your work. If you want a wider headband then crochet 4 dc into a first st.

Crochet into each stitch 2 dc and 1 dc into a last dc (8 dc and 10 dc if you made 4 dc in a first row), ch 2 and turn your work.

Continue crocheting this headband working the star stitches as it is shown in a video tutorial.

Once you have 10 star stitches for the adult size, see how it fits on the head. When you wrap the headband around the head in place where you wear the headband, the headband should completely wrap the head but the sides should not overlap. If needed crochet longer or shorter based on your size. You also can make children’s size.

Once you have the enough length, start reducing the stitches by crocheting 2 double crochet rows. See the video tutorial how to finish the headband.
