How to Start crocheting in Oval using T-Shirt Yarn

This is the perfect pattern for beginner! It is very simple and easy to follow and work up pretty quickly. You also can mix and match the colors

T-shirt yarn is wonderful for more robust projects like rugs, mats, table mats, baskets, and in any other home projects. Projects using t-shirt yarn also work up pretty quickly.

The first step is to determine the finished project size. For instance, I want my finished crochet mat to be 30 inches long and 18 inches wide. I subtract from 30 inches 18 and get 12 inches. As such, my starting chain should be 12 inches.

Another example, I want my finished crochet mat to be 25 inches long and 15 inches wide. I subtract from 25 inches 15 and get 10 inches. As such, my starting chain should be 10 inches.
